Urge Georgia’s U.S. Senators to Support Assisted Living Provider Relief -- Before Restaurants, Bars, and Gyms Updated: 4/8/2022
On April 7, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a “COVID Relief” bill that provides $55 billion for restaurants, bars, gyms, and other businesses but nothing for assisted living providers. The U.S. Senate is currently considering very similar legislation to provide funding for these same businesses but not for assisted living. We all are frustrated at this, and Argentum has asked us to express our frustration to our U.S. Senate members. To date, there have been seven COVID relief bills, none of which have included assisted living, yet Congress is set to fund restaurants, bars, and gyms while our communities continue to fight COVID. Our message is: WE NEED PROVIDER RELIEF NOW! We urge you to call or email Senator Warnock and Senator Ossoff’s state directors as soon as possible and tell them we need provider relief now. Let them know that they should not provide funding to restaurants, bars, and gyms before taking care of seniors living in our communities and those who care for them.
