Regional Lunch & Learn | Rules & Regulations

Prevent survey gaps with root cause analysis tools

Thursday, April 30, 2026
11:30 AM - 1:30 PM (EDT)

Middle Georgia State University 100 University Parkway PSC 341 Macon, GA 31206

* Registration open until 4/27/26 at 11:59 PM (EDT)

This 90-minute Lunch & Learn gives administrators and leadership staff the skills and tools to proactively prevent the most common survey deficiencies in assisted living communities. Learners will master Root Cause Analysis (RCA) as the foundation for sustainable compliance, then apply this framework to the two highest-risk regulatory areas: Workforce Qualifications & Trainings and Physical Plant, Health & Safety Standards. Using real-world scenarios, practical templates, and step-by-step guides, learners will leave with actionable tools—including checklists, trackers, and emergency protocols—that they can start using immediately to strengthen staff competency, resident safety, and survey readiness.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Analyze common survey deficiencies by applying Root Cause Analysis to workforce training and physical plant safety scenarios.
  2. Evaluate current community practices against Georgia Assisted Living Regulations and identify gaps in documentation, drills, or staff competency.
  3. Develop a corrective action and sustainability plan using provided RCA tools, checklists, and emergency protocols to prevent repeat deficiencies.

NAB Approval: This program has been approved for Continuing Education for 1.50 total participant hours by NAB/NCERS - Approval #20270128-1.50-A120089-IN.
